This beautiful ravana falls is located close to the Ella town in Badulla District of Uva province in Sri Lanka.   • Legendary story 

This Sri  lanka  was ruled by a yaksha tribal king named Ravana 7500 years ago. This king Ravana is a very powerful king. Through the meditation of this king Ravana he has possessed the universal  energy. This universal power is the reason for the power of  king Ravana. Prince Rama, who was born in ayodhya, India at that time, and his brother lakshman had cut off the nose of king Ravana's sister due to some problem. Angered  by this incident, king Ravana abducted princess sita, the wife of prince Rama, from his special vehicle called "Dandumonara".( "Dandumonara" was the vehicle used for the travels of kind Ravana. This Dandumonara has the ability to fly in the sky.) After the abduction of princess Sita, Princess sita was hidden in a cave at the top of the Ravana falls. There is also a pond at the top of the falls which is  said to have bathed princess sita.
